Who are you really?...

If I could ask one question of the world, of all 7 billion people, it would be "Who are you really?"

Not what your current title is, or what schools you've attended. I'd rather know what moves you, who are you really.

If you had one day, to spend with anyone, who would it be?

If you had one meal to eat, what would it be?

If you had one prayer to say, what would it be?

If you had one place to visit, where would it be?

If you had one person to leap into love with, who would it be?

If you had one regret to let go of, what would it be?

If you had one place to make love in, that you never have, where would it be?

If you had one choice to live anywhere you could, where would it be?

If you could choose any pet in the world to have, what would it be?

If you could just choose one person to turn to when you are in despair, who would it be?

When life seems filled with challenge, where do you go to find solace, love?

Who is your higher power, God, or Savior?

What are the two most important gifts that you have, coming from the inside , that you have in your life, that makes you absolutely unique in this world?

What secret do you hold, about yourself, that you'd rather not share? What is it?

I would love to know these things, for if you were able to tell me, that would show me that you are indeed quite rare. You're the type of person I want on my team, in my life, right now.

For if you can answer each of these questions, you truly know who you are.

And that makes you someone that everyone needs in their life as well.

You see, there is not one trick question here at all.

There is not one question that you do not have an answer for.

You are the gold you seek, and once this is revealed to you, by you, your life will never be the same.

You'll see, that you are a magnificent child of God, of Universal light, who deserves all that this world can offer.

Most importantly one who deserves to love, and be loved, at the most magical level ever known to man.

Slow down, and discover the beauty of who you really are.

The Joy of Being Silent in Conversation..An Oxymoron?

When I mentioned to a friend the other day that sometimes I really enjoy being with someone and not talking, simply being present with them where, the conversation dwindles and we are just in each others energy, she looked at me and said, "What? You mean being silent in conversation? David, that's an oxymoron."

And she was right. Like "jumbo shrimp", the combining thoughts of "silence" and "conversation" initially don't seem to make sense. But a deeper look opens up a whole new world of existing.

To be fully present, fully in the moment, is what everyone strives for , even if we don't know it. When we are with someone in verbal conversation, it's not always easy to be fully present. As they are speaking, most of us are at the very least subconsciously thinking about our response.

And while that's not necessarily a bad thing at all, if we want to go deeper in relationship with someone, if we truly desire to connect with them at "all " levels, we'll have to go to a place where there are no words spoken, yet the communication continues.

This place is very uncomfortable for most of us, as it exposes a vulnerability that we'd rather not experience. To be next to someone, maybe looking into their eyes, maybe holding their hands, maybe just looking away at a sunset or other people, and not speaking, takes confidence, security, and a real sense of self. To stay mentally and emotionally connected, to let your soul speak to theirs without words is one of the highest levels of communication that we'll ever experience.

In essence we're saying, "I want all of you. I want to sit in your energy, no words spoken and "feel" all that you have to say. "

Some of us can go there naturally, but in my work and my personal life , I've seen it happen most easily if we make a conscious decision with a friend or lover to create this opportunity in our lives. Where we actually talk about sitting together, for the next 5 minutes, and just experience each other at another level.

To take it a step further, if you want to do this with your partner, create a space while you're making love to do the very same thing. Slow your movements way down, ask your partner for a connection where no words are spoken, and instead feel their love as you gently make love. Stare into each others eyes, and communicate by sending love, yet without your need to do so with any form of verbal language.

Through silence, we can learn to communicate and feel our friends or partners energy at a whole new level. We can learn to experience a deeper connection, where in the stillness, love and respect reside. Where our heart learns to open wider, while no words are shared. Where we expose ourselves initially to a moment or two of feeling uncomfortable, maybe even to the point of embarrassment and laughter, to get to the core of who we are, and who they are: pure love.

I know, without a shadow of a doubt that this can create a new found depth and magic in any and all relationships that you would like to enhance. But it will only work if you try it.

Slow down.

The Beauty of Discontentment

Yes, there is actually beauty in living a life of discontent, where you know that there has to be more to life than what you are holding on to at this very moment.

To realize you are discontented is an actual moment of awakening! Do you know how many people stay in their false "dream state", believing that while they may not be happy, there are really no other choices that could turn their lives around?

Crazy thinking isn't it?

When we get to the point and ask, "Is this really all there is to life...love...God...my career....friendships...", we have hit a moment of potential breakthrough.

I say potential, because if we want our life to reach that place of excitement, real love and more, we're going to have to move into the unknown, which will rip any sense of security right out from underneath us.

STOP playing it safe in life.

Start living.

Challenge your old beliefs.

Give to others.... love, joy, compliments, smiles, money...that which you wish to receive.

Take risks, get help, live life differently.

See the beauty in your feelings of discontent.

Slow down. It's never too late to change.

Unless....like many who will read this...you wait until tomorrow.

Searching, Finding Success in Unusual Places/Erica

The following writing is from a graduate of my Life Mastery/Life Coach Master Level Certification.

Erica is truly an example of an outstanding person, who combines her passion and love for both pets and people into her new found life path. Rock on girl!!

The True Essence of Who I Am
By
Erica Schivinski, RN,BSN, Certified Life Coach
Intuitive Pet Coach

As a Registered Nurse for many years I appreciate the fragility of life and embrace the art of compassion and nurturing humans. However, as I grew spiritually and emotionally I yearned for more, I wanted to intertwine my passion for people with my devotion and love for animals. I started this new mission simply by volunteering with my therapy dog at the local hospital on my days off, sharing joy and words of encouragement to critically ill patients.

Then one morning I turned on the television and saw David Essel talking passionately about Life Coaching, I was intrigued, so I called to inquire and two days later signed up for the course. I quickly grasped the concept of life coaching and was able to genuinely conceive the art of listening, while asking open ended questions and being congruent with oneself while maintaining a positive outlook on life. I challenged myself by pursuing a Master’s Level Certification as a Life Coach and embraced a new peacefulness and true happiness that poured from within.

Once I completed my certifications, I wondered daily...how and when would I start coaching people? Days turned into weeks and I began to despair, even though I was still utilizing all the skills I learned in various capacities. Skills improved daily such as a deeper level of open communication and better listening with my husband, friends and even co workers. I began acknowledging everyone’s inner beauty and uniqueness as well as sharing words of positive encouragement to anyone I came in contact with. This new found outlook definitely made a difference in my life, because I noticed people gravitating toward me with smiles and an uncanny openness, willingness and desire to talk and interact.

While learning the ways of life coaching-one of the concepts that stood out to me the most during classes and seminars was to be “open and receptive to everything around you and remove the tunnel vision“. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks…people had been asking me for advice and help with their pets for years! All of a sudden, everything started falling into place. For example, when I was volunteering with my amazing little Pomeranian, Foxy, people started asking me to help train their dogs to be so well behaved, even nurses started asking me to go out and pick the perfect pet for their family and help teach it manners and basic obedience.

Opening my eyes to life allowed me to acknowledge the potential for truly obtaining my passion, my niche… and now today I am opening my very own unique company called Perfect Pet Connection. My company is truly the essence of who I am, I am coaching people to train their pets and matching individuals and families with the most compatible and perfect pet for their situation. In addition, I am offering grievance services, coaching people through difficult times and enabling them with the tools to effectively cope with the loss of their beloved pet.

All of the services I offer require accountability on the part of the potential pet owner as well as writing assignments, journaling, and of course constant contact for reassurance and motivation. My innate ability to connect with animals and humans has lead to me to an unsurpassed place of fulfillment and happiness. And although their were many bumps in the road and I spent countless hours learning how to start a new business, I know the hard work is all worth it on this amazing journey of life. I will continue on my path of personal growth and professional success by following my true passion helping people connect with pets, hence the name the Perfect Pet Connection.

Our Greatest Desire..Is Here Now..A Gift For Us All

At the end of a recent sermon I gave, where the topic was how to create the deepest of love...and how to not only experience this, but to share it as well...the most amazing , profound and beautiful thing happened.

I was given a gift, a gift that moved me so, so deeply that I had to continue on and share it with the congregation.

Now, this "gift" has been given to millions of people over time, and you have received this gift yourself numerous times in your life as well. But sometimes, in our training to see "all that is not working in our lives vs all that is perfect", we miss the gift.

The "gift", was a soft yet powerful voice that said directly to me.."you have it all right now..you have the love within that you seek..you are the love that you seek...there's nothing else that matters..and you need not move out of this moment, this experience, this love ever..Quit the search, you are it, it is here, you are love, love is here now."

As I verbally shared the thoughts that were given to me in that moment with the congregation, as I shared the "gift", tears of gratitude streamed down my face.

Gratitude for love...for you....for me...for the ability to feel, to find, the reason for our existence.

I have often fallen victim to the trap that bliss, joy, happiness was just down the road, in a new home, an increase in income, my next partner, a better job......

When all along , bliss, joy ,happiness has been residing within, just waiting to be released, given to myself first and then shared with others.

Slow down.

What you and I are searching for, we already have.

Love, within, and all around us.

Embrace it today, in the mirror, in friends, in strangers.

Love, peace David Essel. www.talkdavid.com
