ADVANCEMENT through SACRIFICE?
ADVANCEMENT THROUGH SACRIFICE
During a discussion recently, the topic regarding our need to follow our dreams came up. A woman had to decide if the challenge of working seven days a week for a twelve month period of time was worth the potential end result of creating the life and work she's always desired. Within one hour, the result from our caller survey was unanimous . . . 9 out of 10 people said it would be worth the risk. What about you? Would you be willing to commit to one year of this type of schedule to be doing what you've always wanted? Could you look at this situation creatively enough and devise a mental plan of attack where you could survive the demands of this type of a schedule? Realistically, what is 12 months of your life, if on average we live for 924 months?
I believe a lot of times we take the easier, "conforming" path in a life we forget just may be able to be filled with more excitement and joy if we are willing to make a few different sacrifices along the way. We fall victim to the belief that by doing what the "average" person would do is really the only way to play it. And I admit following your own journey and going after your dreams, which almost always means creating a nonconformist path, will ruffle a few feathers of those who want you to play it safe . . . be more normal. But the rewards in many cases are too great to pass up.
As an example, when we make the decision to go to school full-time and work full-time, we are able to create the confidence in ourselves that too few people seem to have, a confidence and exploration of our greatness that many never get a chance to experience. Make 2010 A Huge Success! Start today...
Too often, we fail to accomplish our most important goals because we are afraid to take the risks necessary to live the life we want to live. We also have a tendency to choose too many goals to go after at the same time.
Make this year totally different. You'll see what I mean after watching this video.

Slow down and decide right here, right now, to make 2010 the huge success you want it to be.

Are You Expecting To Be Successful?
From my interviews with people like authors Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra, former quarterback Roman Gabriel, to actress Jenna Elfman or Olympic great Greg Louganis, each and every one of them expected to be successful in any area of life that they walked into.
Now, sometimes as in the case of author Napoleon Hill, the success did not come as soon as he originally expected. As a matter of fact, his best selling book "Think and Grow Rich" took him 25 years to create! And all along the way, even though he hit roadblocks , setbacks and frustrations, he never once held any expectation other than the fact that it would be a major selling book, and one that would positively affect the lives of millions.
Our world has become one where instant gratification is the norm, where we tend to believe that if we don't hit the big money , or the lasting love, or the perfect body right now, now that we've finally made up our minds to do so, then maybe we're just not meant to be that successful in life.
But those who are successful know that the opposite is often true. We need to hold those high expectations to be successful everyday, do the work necessary to make them happen, and then have the faith that they will, regardless of how long it takes or what challenges we may have to endure along the way.
This formula that I just stated, if taken seriously, will ALWAYS lead you to the path of success.
It may not be on your timeline, but the tenacity that you show the world will bring you experiences and introduce you to amazing people that you would never met any other way. Life was not meant to be played safely, but rather to be courted with passion. Successful people face huge setbacks personally and professionally, just like people that never reach the level of success that they truly want to experience.
So, would you rather keep your expectations high and go after the deepest of love or the career that turns your passion on, or muddle through life playing it safe, and never creating the life you truly want to live.
Slow down, expect to be successful everyday of your life, regardless of what your outside world might look like right now, and reap the benefits for a lifetime.

Risking it All for Love: Never Play It Safe
Over the past 24 years, I have worked with so many people who were filled with resentment at a former partner, or a parent, and while hanging onto the anger at someone who could not love them, lost their own ability to love. They became isolated from the heart down. Bitter at the opposite sex. They created all kinds of excuses as to why it was better to be alone, then even try their hand at love again. They played it so safe when it came to love, that they missed out on the whole reason for living.
We are here to love. To love ourselves, yes even with all of our faults, and then to love another. And if that doesn't work, another. And another. And then another. You see there are no reasons to stop growing in love, to stop taking risks for the ultimate prize:love.
Love offers no guarantee that it will last, yet it is the "Holy Grail" in life. The love a dog shows it's owner is simply perfect. The smile that naturally grows as you are about to see your baby as it wakes up. The excitement that comes in a new relationship, the anticipation of the first kiss of the day, abounds in love.
Never playing it safe also means loving someone deeply even when they don;t return the favor immediately. It means dropping the scorecard in love. If they haven't returned your call, you call again and leave a beautiful message. You ask for their help in picking up the dishes after dinner, and then do it yourself if their own anger at any issue between you stops them from helping. Instead of playing it safe, and dropping back in your giving of love to your partner when they have decreased the love they are showing you, you keep on loving at the level you were meant to: full out love.
What I'm discussing here is radical to the small ego. The side of us that wants to be right versus kind. That wants to play it safe instead of loving unconditionally. It's time to love for the sake of loving. It's time to go out and date, right now, instead of waiting for years for your heart to heal. The victim mentality that follows a nasty breakup, or unkind treatment should not stop us from the freedom real love brings.
If you are hurting from love, get help, then get back in the game. Whether you're 20, 50, or 90, love for the sake of loving. Love for the sake of living, after all, it's the only reason we are here to begin with.
You can play it safe when you're dead, but since you're reading this right now, risk looking like the fool for love. Live ,live with passion, abandon, and love. Live, love for your hearts sake now, as well as every living being on this planet. We all need to be inspired, by you. Don't let us, you, or your partner down. Live with love now.

"The Guitar"..A Transformational Movie
While receiving strong reviews from the Sundance Film Festival, it has lingered in the background, an unknown in many circles.
If you are ready to transform your life, or if life is forcing you to transform yourself due to circumstances outside of your control, you will benefit greatly from watching this film.
The main character is hit with many intense challenges all on the same day, and decides to follow a path she had only dreamed about in the past.
Some of her choices may be against your belief systems, yet they hold the key to true personal growth: the only time we truly alter our lives in very big ways, is when we choose to walk into the unknown.
Rent this movie today, and watch the powerful transformation that our character goes through, and then decide what radical changes you must make to get the same end result.
Slow down.

The Beauty of Discontentment
To realize you are discontented is an actual moment of awakening! Do you know how many people stay in their false "dream state", believing that while they may not be happy, there are really no other choices that could turn their lives around?
Crazy thinking isn't it?
When we get to the point and ask, "Is this really all there is to life...love...God...my career....friendships...", we have hit a moment of potential breakthrough.
I say potential, because if we want our life to reach that place of excitement, real love and more, we're going to have to move into the unknown, which will rip any sense of security right out from underneath us.
STOP playing it safe in life.
Start living.
Challenge your old beliefs.
Give to others.... love, joy, compliments, smiles, money...that which you wish to receive.
Take risks, get help, live life differently.
See the beauty in your feelings of discontent.
Slow down. It's never too late to change.
Unless....like many who will read this...you wait until tomorrow.
