If you're currently in between jobs, how do you spend your time? How do you stay motivated to do what you need to do to find that new position?
A number of years ago my father Ed was in this very position. With 3 kids and a wife to support, the pressure at one point became too much and he went to his doctor to get some medication for anxiety.
A very wise man, the doctor prescribed the golf driving range every morning at 7.30am instead of the medication.
He reasoned with my father that if he did this, he would release stress, and when he returned home at 9am he'd be ready to attack the day with a renewed energy.
It worked. My dad recalled how he really started to focus on the task at hand, and within a very short period of time had secured a new position.
Think about how you can use this example in your life to keep your energy up and your motivation strong while you are briefly in between jobs. It works.
Slow down.
